Whether your site will use piling or a
suspension system for moorage of your new floating dock,
a gangway will be used to access it. Aluminum gangways
are becoming popular both for their looks and
the minimal upkeep that is needed. Steel is also
widely used however is most common in suspension systems.
A suspension system is used when there is bedrock under
the dock preventing piling from being used. A
suspension system is one where the gangway and a
strong arm are attached to a large concrete footing
anchored in the river bank. They are hinged so
that the dock can rise and fall as the river does. ThruFlow decking is typically used for the floor of the
gangway however treated wood or composite decking can be
used as well.
We will work with homeowners to make their floating dock project a
success.
